About the Webinar:
Every community struggles with filling entry-level STEM employment across a wide variety of industries. Like in other communities, Northeast Ohio companies currently have over 2,000 openings for entry-level manufacturing workers and engineers. However, the community has rallied to create a one-of-a-kind high school apprenticeship program that is rapidly revitalizing STEM education, giving more inner-city students access to the middle class, and changing the face of manufacturing across Cleveland and its surrounding counties.
MAGNET is adapting the best of European-style manufacturing apprenticeships to the American education system, and combines them with the best practices of other national programs – mentorship, college credit, earn-and-learn internships, and more – to create one seamless pipeline to fill critical STEM positions at 11 local companies. Hear about the exciting new Early College, Early Career program, its holistic approach to workforce development, and learn the best practices that you can bring back to your own STEM ecosystem.
Along the way, you’ll have the chance to learn about the Manufacturing Extension Partnership system, and how these organizations can help your STEM ecosystem better connect with your local companies and STEM employment opportunities.
