June 2017 – Helping STEM Take Root with Young Children and Their Families
Members of the Early Childhood Practice Group have shared this upcoming webinar. Find more information below and in the external registration link.
Join ZERO TO THREE for a live interactive spotlight featuring Rebecca Parlakian, who will discuss how STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) skills are now a major focus of many early childhood programs, both to promote these critical competencies, but also to nurture an emerging scientific mindset in young children. In this session, participants will receive an overview of how these early skills emerge, in the context of adult-child interactions and engaging experiences. Examples of activities appropriate for the infant/toddler setting will be provided, as will a discussion of the “engineering design process” for toddlers.
A brief Q&A session will follow the presentation. Also, in case you can’t attend live, this event will be recorded and a link to access the recording will be sent out to all registrants after the event.
