STEM SENC (Southeastern North Carolina)

STEM SENC is a cooperative effort by diverse stakeholders in the southeastern region of North Carolina including Bladen, Brunswick, Columbus, Cumberland, Duplin, Harnett, Hoke, New Hanover, Onslow, Pender, Robeson, Sampson, and Scotland counties. Our goal is to provide access to aspirational STEM learning opportunities for all students regardless of geographic isolation, socioeconomic status, culture or ability. These opportunities will encourage students to aspire to education and career pathways involving science, technology, engineering and math and to achieve success. They will be provided in and out of school, utilize project-based-learning with real-world applications, and encourage family and community support. STEM SENC focuses on three key priorities: •Creating a shared identity for the region anchored in STEM •Cultivating a vision of STEM as a regional solution to the lack of education and career aspirations •Promoting STEM as a pathway to healthy living, a fulfilling career and a promising future
