The Interdisciplinary Science and Engineering Partnership (ISEP) is led by the University at Buffalo (UB), SUNY, with core partners the Buffalo Public Schools (BPS), SUNY Buffalo State College (BSC) and the Buffalo Museum of Science. ISEP focuses on critical middle school experiences of students in science and engineering and their transition to high school. The project uses an innovative approach to teacher professional development among high-needs urban schools. ISEP also focuses mentoring and Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) to connect all participants. PLCs cultivate mentoring between BPS teachers, students and parents, university faculty, professionals, graduate and service-learning undergraduate students.
