Lisa Blank, a LEAD STEM Fellow with STEM Ecosystems and regional co-chair of the North Country STEM Learning Network, serves as Director of STEM Programs for Watertown City School District in Northern New York. Lisa has extensive experience in STEM. Since 2008, she has coordinated and directed multiple Department of Defense Education Activity STEM grants. In 2019, Lisa was recognized by the New York State STEM Collaborative with the Margaret Ashida Award for her district level leadership in STEM education. Lisa is passionate about increasing student achievement through educational opportunities that spark curiosity, wonder, and awe. Prior experience as an educator of math, science, and technology in the greater Minneapolis/St. Paul and greater Boston regions has made her acutely aware of the significant differences in educational opportunities and awareness of STEM careers that exist across the nation. Lisa’s mission is to bridge these gaps, understanding the impact of barriers that exist on outcomes for individuals, families, communities, and society as a whole.
