Born and raised in Detroit the son of teachers in Detroit. Graduate of Oakland University, the University of Pittsburgh (Ph.D.) and University of Utah (Postdoc). 36 years and counting at the University at Buffalo. For STEM ecoysystems, Director of ISEP, broad interests in Community engagement in K-12 STEM education and community environmental studies. Interests range from surface and analytical chemistry to tissue engineering, geographic information analysis and public policy around all these topics.
