Any ecosystems interested in submitting a proposal around one of these 2 topics for the upcoming CoP? These are topics of interest to the Greater Austin STEM Ecosystem and have been conversations I’ve had between sessions at other CoP’s.
Volunteer-led Ecosystem Steering Committee Structures – a variety of leadership structures seem to exist and it would be great to pull together ecosystem members who are part of a volunteer structure like we have in Austin. I’m not quite sure what this will look like as a session or discussion, but it might be around sharing responsibilities, who do you make sure is represented on your team, how big is your volunteer leader team, etc. I’ve been doing this now for 3 years and I don’t have a good sense of what the structure really is for other ecosystems (other than the ones that keep getting highlighted that have paid staff) and I think this would be super helpful to learn some things that others have found work and don’t work along the way. I feel like we have things to share and definitely things we could learn from others with this kind of volunteer structure. Anyone want to join in?
Low to No Budget Ecosystems – we run our ecosystem on very little funds and rely on community partners to help with all the various community networking events and convenings that we host. I’m sure there are other low to no budget ecosystems as well but again, I haven’t really heard about that and would love to dive into the details on funds and share with others how we do this on a no to low cost budget. Any low-to-no-budget ecosystems want to join me in a proposal and/or discussion?
