The Pittsburgh Regional STEM Ecosystem has a goal to develop STEM Pathways that connect children and youth to STEM Learning opportunities and to higher education and career planning. As we have learned the term pathways is BROAD. We are looking to collect different Pathways models (specifically physical examples) that have been developed around the country. Examples might include:
- Community STEM Learning pathways
- K-12 Course Curriculum aligned with Industry Clusters (Such as what has been developed in Ohio or Career Academies)
- Pathways to Higher Education options
- Pathways b/w Secondary and Post Secondary to Key Regional occupations
If your region has an example of a STEM pathway that you have developed could you please share! If you had a particular process you used for defining or developing your pathway or consulting expertise you would recommend, please share that as well!I have attached some examples of various pathways we have come across. Thanks,Anne SekulaHi Anne,
We are also looking for existing STEM pathway models to guide us here in the San Jose area. Have you found other resources?
Anyone else?
We began our work last year when we began bringing key players (teachers, admin, librarians, expanded learning etc) to the table to identify our goals and current resources. Then we used shared Docs to sort existing programs by grade band within our focus districts. Now we are ready to look at defining cohesive paths, identifying gaps and tackling how to share our work with those that need it. If anyone has experience with these pieces, we would love to hear about it.
Thank you!
