Looking for research and ideas to support our development of a high school STEM mentoring program targeting 9th grade girls in low-income school districts. Please share your ideas or email me directly
Try reaching out to local business and industry to see if they have their own mentoring initiatives available for employees to implement as part of their volunteer/service opportunities. For example, in our area GE, Corning and TEK-mountain all provide an avenue for their employees to engage in STEM outreach, particularly to encourage girls in STEM. Another source of mentors for girls is sororities that have a STEM focus.

A great collection of research-informed practices for youth mentoring programs is the the Fourth Edition of Elements of Effective Practice for Mentoring and the additional STEM Supplemental (2015).
Reach out to Jeremy (jbabendure@aztechcouncil.org) from AZ ecosystem. They have a CSO program which not only has mentoring for high school students but also involves them in discussions. They have been able to successfully roll it out to other ecosystem.
