OC STEM would like to put together a panel focused on building and sustaining STEM career pathways at the upcoming communities of practice convening in April. We are currently working to build out healthcare career pathways and are therefore interested in sharing our progress in addition to hearing from other ecosystems that may have “best practices” or programs to highlight in this area. We have also made significant progress building out engineering and computer science pathways in Orange County. Is this a topic that may be of interest to others?
I would be happy to serve as a panelist to share our multi-partner diversity in healthcare project called KC HealthTracks. Funding from US Office of Minority Health to engage students from 11 urban high schools from 7 districts partnering with a community college, university, AHEC, HOSA and local healthcare partnerships showcasing the value of in-school and out-of-school learning.
We are working on a similar approach in Cincinnati with Partners for a Competitive Workforce. We are starting with Health Care pathway as well. I would be interested in learning more about what others are doing.
We have developed a Make to Manufacturing Pathway and would be happy to share as well.
