From Iris Johnson:
Dear Teacher/Educator/
Administrator, May 8th, 2017 The shortage of computer science graduates needs to be addressed at all levels. At LSU-Shreveport we have initiated a program for K-12 teachers and administrators that will prepare them to earn an add-on certification in computer science. Hopefully, these teachers and administrators will introduce computer courses in the K-12 environment that will better prepare students for careers in computer and technology fields.
We would like to get you involved in the pursuit of a solution to this critical problem in our own region of Louisiana.
If you are interested, please see the attached flyer and contact us. Please forward this e-mail and flyer to a colleague who might also be interested. (Flyer link is in reply below)
We have a $600 scholarship for each participant to help defray the tuition cost for this course.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Jere Hatcher, Ph.D. (Chancellor’s office)
Alfred McKinney, Ph.D. (Computer Science)
P.S. The summer course tuition may be paid in 3 payments.
